Then you start a freeplay game - a real attempt now - apply what you've learned, craft, build, defend, generate some power, engineer production lines, make mistakes, dismantle, re-engineer production lines, repair your stuff that have been destroyed by the biters, get frustrated, then start a new game all over again. The start of the game is fun enough: It teaches you how to mine, then it teaches you how to automate, then it teaches you how to take the next few steps to getting your base up and running.
